She sat in silence, waiting for her sister’s response. She didn’t want to think about what he sister was going to say, she didn’t want to think about how her sister was going to react. Because if she started to guess what her sister would say, then she would start to plan for those fictional responses. And if she started to plan for fiction, she’d be ill prepared for reality.
So she had to wait, and hope that her sister would have any response at all in the first place. Because the worst case scenario would be absolutely nothing.
