She sat very quietly, and just watched the world move around her. It was nice. Relaxing almost. After being so hectic, so crazy, so much weight on her shoulders, so much stress, it was nice to see the world move around her, without any need for her to hold it together. It was nice for her not to have to do any of the work.
The downside to it was that she couldn’t just sit and think that the world turned all on its own. That life just continued on out of pure stubbornness and human nature. She knew that right now, there were people working hard, pulling all the strings, and holding everything together. And they were all led by him. Without him, this world would fall apart in a matter of minutes. And most of this world didn’t even realize he existed. Wasn’t there something fundamentally tragic about all of that?
She just tried to push that to the back of her mind, though, and enjoy her down time here. Because she knew it was only a matter of time until she couldn’t take the stillness anymore. And she’d be back to him. And she’d still be happy.
