“I just didn’t think he’d be your type.”
It was the constant refrain from Erin’s friends, every time they found out she was dating Jamie exclusively now. Some were disappointed, she knew, as they’d been secretly hoping to convince Erin to set them up with Jamie. Others were just worried about Jamie’s easy go with flow nature conflicting with Erin’s make a plan and stick to it one, and that Erin would end up very hurt. Others just didn’t expect Erin to be in any kind of serious relationship until her career goals were achived—and in their defense that’s kind of how Erin thought it would go too.
But, although she didn’t believe in soul mates or fairy tales or meant to be, Erin had to admit there was something special and wonderful about Jamie, and that being with him just felt right. So, she decided that she was going to be with him, no matter how “not really her type” he was. Because he was Jamie. And that made him her type.
