Fiction: Call it Like I See it (190 words)

I think they suit each other well, if you don’t mind me saying.  I know, I know that isn’t exactly what you want to hear for your little girl, is it?  You don’t want her to be with the guy who has lived in six different countries in the past three years.  You don’t want her to be with the artist whose career will come and go as the mood fluctuates.  You want her to find something a little more stable.  But—and I say this with all the love in the world—have you looked at your daughter recently?  Do you really think she could be happy with anyone other than this kind of man? I promise you that even if she and this guy don’t work out—her next guy and the next and the next would be cut from very similar cloth.  And look, you can see love for her written all over his face.  So, my advice would be to find a way to like him—find a way to be happy for them.  Because I don’t think he’s going anywhere—and like I said, I like them together.  They’re cute.
