One of my favorite things about her was the way that she genuinely loves to see other people happy. There wasn’t a jealous bone in her body. She was never disappointed to see that someone else got something that made them happy—even if she wanted it for herself. She said things like “Life’s not a competition” and “Any happiness in the world is good.” And she meant it. There aren’t too many people in the world who could say that honestly. Maybe she always knew that she wouldn’t have enough time to spend any of it being bitter.
